1. Abbreviations and Definitions

BCMS:
Business Cluster Marketing Systems Limited
Award:
The recognition given to tourism websites that have met the criteria described at www.welcomeweb.info
Badge:
The symbol of trust displayed by websites that have met the Award criteria.
Badge Holder:
Any property owner whose website has met the criteria and received a Badge for display above the fold on the website's home page.

2. Authorisations, Approvals and Licences

Business Cluster Marketing Systems Limited (BCMS) is:

  • authorised to deliver the WelcomeWeb Awards scheme in the UK and other English and Welsh speaking territories.
  • authorised to pass on cost savings negotiated with approved suppliers to help Badge Holders reduce their operating costs and be more competitive.
  • a Google whitelisted partner authorised to submit Badge Holders' data for Google Places free listings, given Badge Holders' express consent to do so.
  • a TripAdvisor approved content provider to help Badge Holders manage their reputation.
  • a § authorised data provider to help Badge Holders counter bad behaviour and property damage.
  • authorised by major booking engine service providers to deliver availability, booking and secure online payment services.
  • a member of the International Federation for Information Technology Travel and Tourism.
  • licensed in Wales to deliver the Wales.info domain for the benefit of tourism to Wales from UK and overseas markets.

3. WelcomeWeb UK's Responsibilities

WelcomeWeb UK's primary responsibility is to help tourism businesses drive down the cost of sales, become more competitive and increase occupation rates.

WelcomeWeb UK provides this service through the www.welcomeweb.info website and affiliate websites that list Badge Holders including but not limited to a network in Wales of 14,000 location-based tourism websites, over 5,000 of which are mobile-phone enabled.

WelcomeWeb UK provides additional online market exposure and new marketing opportunities for Badge Holders through BCMS and its affiliate partners.

WelcomeWeb UK undertakes to provide accurate, timely, accessible and fully networked information to assist visitors in their choice of destination and accommodation booking.

WelcomeWeb UK provides applicants with login details to manage the progress of their Awards from a Pending Badge issued immediately on registration through to Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Award Badges as Badge Holders meet the criteria specified.

WelcomeWeb UK uses its best endeavours through BCMS to maintain the accuracy of information published but cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies or any consequences thereof.

WelcomeWeb UK advises holidaymakers to contact Badge Holders direct to confirm the accuracy of any information published before embarking on a visit.

4. Badge Holders' Responsibilities

The Badge Holder's primary responsibility is to ensure the details in their WelcomeWeb Award account are kept accurate and up to date and to provide truthful answers in the self-assessment sections for their Bronze and Gold Award Badges.

Badge Holders must undertake to display their Award Badges on the home page of the website that has achieved the Award.

Badge Holders may in addition display their Award Badges in other marketing material that carries a link to the home page of the website that has achieved the Award.

5. Privacy Policy

BCMS undertakes not to pass any data or collections of data on to third parties without express permission form the data owner.

6. Income

BCMS derives income to run the WelcomeWeb UK awards scheme from the Silver Award report process alone.

7. Independence

BCMS is fully independent from any organisation or body that might otherwise influence the Awards process,

8. Award Badges

Award Badges remain the property of WelcomeWeb UK and may be revoked for any just cause. Award holders will be notified immediately with full details of any reason or reasons why this might be considered and have the right to respond within 28 days before any further action is taken. The decision of WelcomeWeb UK and BCMS is final in this respect.

9. Property Information

Accurate Data

WelcomeWeb UK Award applicants must agree to provide accurate data on their accommodation property(ies) in all online and offline marketing communications. The information supplied must be accurate, undisputed and authoritative, with current facts specific to each location.

Applicants must provide their primary direct local phone number specific to each location rather than a number that serves many locations. Likewise, they must provide the home page address of the primary website for each location.

Primary Source

By progressing through the WelcomeWeb UK Awards scheme Badge Holders give BCMS express consent to act as the primary source of information for their free Google Place listing unless they have already submitted their information direct to Google.

This service is provided free to Badge Holders to help them onto the first rung of the ladder to new benefits available from Google Places and have neither the time nor know-how to deal with this directly.

No Spam

As a Google whitelisted partner, BCMS has undertaken not to engage in deceptive or manipulative behaviour intended to game search result ranking with the information provided by Badge Holders.

10. Online Help Desk

An online help desk at helpdesk@wales.info aims to provide a 24/7 response within 12-24 hours.

11. Frontline Telephone Help Desk

A frontline telephone help desk will take messages between 9am-5pm weekdays 0845 409 8260 (local call rates apply) with a response provided within one working day. The telephone help is unable to answer technical questions, which are best dealt with through the Online Help Desk.

12. Network Performance

Network performance is covered by a 24/7 Service Level Agreement between Welcome Web UK and its Internet Service Provider (ISP) rackspace.com who undertake to provide a response to reported interruptions within four hours.

13. Alerts and Bulletins

Badge Holders receive regular alerts and bulletins providing tips on improving the performance of their own websites and details of new developments.

14. Exclusions

With support from Badge Holders, WelcomeWeb UK will use its best endeavours to maintain the accuracy of all information and content and to maintain communication with Badge Holders and holidaymakers without breaks in transmission. Neither WelcomeWeb UK nor Badge Holders can be held responsible for inaccuracies in information provided by third parties or breaks in transmission beyond its reasonable control or for any consequences thereof.
